Girls and boys can be friends, but they cannot be best friends. Here’s why:

You never really know what they’re feeling

Is he secretly in love with you, despite denying the possibility? Are you secretly in love with him, even though you think you only see him as more of a sibling? Should you be secretly in love with him? Would it make everything fall into place—or would it destroy everything?

You find yourself getting jealous

If your friend starts dating someone or spends more time with a new potential significant other, you might feel as though things are falling apart.

Sometimes you end up being let down

You hold your friend to a higher standard because the relationship is—on some levels—more intimate, even though it is just a friendship.

Sometimes in close friendships, caring gets confused for feelings

When you are best friends with someone of the opposite gender (assuming you are heterosexual), any action you take to show your friend how much you care can be passed off as a secret sign of showing affection on a deeper level.

Your relationship is held to a different standard than other friendships

Because of that unusual dynamic between the two of you, you expect certain things to happen and/or not happen. When these expectations aren’t met, they hurt worse than any of your other friendships.

For you and your partner. Hello, we ain’t mind readers, and if you believe you are, then why are you having trust issues? You’d already know what your partner is thinking.

I know it’s already been said, but this is truly the starting point of resolving trust issues.

Take A Look In The Mirror


I hate to say it, but often, trust issues arise because what you see in someone else is an issue directly reflecting something you don’t want to see in yourself.

Look at yourself, and ask, “What’s really going on with my trust issues?” The honest answer may shock you, but it could also stop you from being a crazy maker.

Have An Open Relationship
 

Did I just advocate having an open relationship? YES!

As in an “open, transparent, let’s communicate, and quit hiding that we each have trust issues, admit our stuff” relationship.

No, this doesn’t mean you take on different lovers (although if that makes the trust issues scamper away, more power to you). But what I’m really advocating for is being open and vulnerable so that trust issues become dead non-issues, rather than a dead relationship!

Give Trust To Get Trust


If you put trust in, you’ll get some back. One of the hardest parts about trust, and resolving trust issues, is giving trust freely. However, when it’s a gift that keeps on giving, then it’s easy to see trust issues retreat.

Defining Love The Wrong Way

It is time to change the meaning of the word “love.”

The word is mostly used according to the first definition given in the dictionary: “an intense feeling of deep affection.” 


Some observation says that the result after speaking with couples before during and after marriage,  and of talking to parents and children struggling with their relationships, I am convinced partiality of this definition. Love should be seen not as a feeling but as an enacted emotion. To love is to feel and act lovingly.


The first love mentioned in the Bible is not romantic love, but parental love (Genesis 22). When a child is born, the parent’s reaction to this person, who so recently did not exist, is to feel that “I would do anything for her.” In the doing is the love — the feeling is enacted. 

Between human beings, love is a relational word. Yes, you can love things that do not love you back the sky or a mountain or a painting or the game of chess. But the love of other people is directional. 


Of course it is possible to perform all sorts of duties for someone and feel little or nothing for them. Love is not about being hired help. Love is not an obligation done with a cold soul. But neither is it a passion that expresses itself in cruelty, or one that does not express itself at all.


True love is not about looking outward. It is about looking at the heart.

Some Things Guys Can Do To Show A Girl That Courtesy Isn’t Dead

For some reason, this new “dating” style and lack of commitment is the popular trend, but remember back in middle school when having a boyfriend was the popular thing to do. Remember those butterflies you would get in your stomach when your crush walked by, and how all the girls would whisper to each other about who “liked” who. Now, I’m not saying we should resort to those middle school tactics because as adults we know how to communicate and handle things better then that.

Since we have this new dating culture in our society, I have created a few things that the good guys can do to show they are interested in a girl, in a respectful way.

A - Text her goodnight and good morning

This will also ensure the girl that you like her, which is the first step in starting a relationship.It can become a habit and then it looses it special factor.

B- Ask to hangout

By doing this, you will be on good standings with her, which can be very beneficial.You can both just have a good time and get to know each other better.

C-Know how to ask a girl out on a date

Be a man and ask a girl to dinner or lunch. Ask her in person or call her, don’t just text her. I’m sure most girls, as long as they’re not in a relationship, will take you up on this offer because this doesn’t happen very often anymore.

It is refreshing to see a guy take the lead and make the first move. If she happens to say no, move on to the next girl you like. She obviously wasn’t the right person for you.

D-Show her you care about her and want to be with her

Do something nice for her. Make her feel like you actually care about her and want to spend time with her. Take her likes into consideration and actually try to make her happy. 

E- Be the guy she wants to show off and bring home to her parents

Be nice to her. Show her you care. Spend time together and find things common interests. Be the person she loves and wants to show off. 

Spend time with the person who makes you happy. Even if this relationship is not the one that will last forever, you should be spending the time with someone who genuinely loves being with you..
